Essay Skills and College Level Argumentative EssayCollege level argumentative essay is the main skill you must have. Your college thesis must be well argued and convincingly written. It is not enough to know what the professor says. You must actually be able to convince him or her of your argument and leave a good impression in the professor's mind.
You should practice a college level essay on a regular basis. It will help you learn the techniques you can use to come up with a good argument. Practice makes perfect. Some writers claim that writing an essay with structure is the most difficult task of writing an essay. But, in my opinion, the structure is only one factor, which you must consider while writing a college-level argumentative essay. Many of us take our knowledge of history or sociology and simply put it all together to make up a convincing argument. Do not do this. Your college essay is the only thing you need to memorize. Without knowing the basics of college-level argumentative essay, you are setting yourself up for failure. When you are just beginning to write a college level essay, it would be easy to put together simple facts and make them work for you. All you need to do is to look up relevant facts and bring the important information together in the form of a logical sentence. Many argue that writing a college-level essay is very different from writing a high school essay. I am not aware of anyone who has ever written in a high school essay who then went on to earn a college degree. If you get started on a high school essay, chances are high that you will stop when you have the necessary knowledge to proceed. With a college level essay, it is not a matter of knowing more facts. Instead, it is about learning how to make the simple facts work for you. It is good to know what happened earlier to a certain historical event and to point out what is commonly known about a certain person. But, when it comes to a history essay, you must look for your facts and knowledge of that event to make it work for you. If you do not know any facts, then look for an expert who can provide you with a list of facts that are pertinent to the subject. As an example, a popular sports writer may supply you with a list of the top sports events in the year, a list of major awards and people who won them, etc. If you are unable to access such a list, simply go online and search for such things. You will soon come across a list of facts and information, which will assist you to find more relevant information. You may have some personal experiences that may be relevant to the subject. Remember that college level argumentative essay is not a research paper. The subject matter must relate to your personal experiences. There is nothing wrong with using personal experiences as a source of facts. But, try to find out if these experiences can help you add value to the essay and use them to support your arguments.
